Acupuncture for Pulmonary Emphysema
Acupuncture treatment of Pulmonary Emphysema has shown to be more effective than Western medicine.
Pulmonary Emphysema is a Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD, as it is otherwise known, formerly termed a chronic obstructive lung disease). It is often caused by exposure to toxic chemicals, including long-term exposure to tobacco smoke.
How does acupuncture work for Pulmonary Emphysema?
Acupuncture decreases reactivity to allergies and the injuries done to lungs tissue by inflammation; Increases blood flow by decreasing pressure to the alveolar capillaries; Strengthens the nourishing of lungs tissue; Slows down the degeneration of elasticity of alveolus wall; Improves breathing function, enhances ventilator function.
Course of treatment
There are 10-15 acupuncture sessions in one course of treatment. Treatment frequency depends on individual condition. Chinese herbs work synergistically with acupuncture.
