Acupuncture for Low Blood Pressure (Hypotension)
Low blood pressure (Hypotension) is the reading number less than 90/60. Some people may have symptoms of low blood pressure when standing up too quickly. Low blood pressure causes dizziness, fatigue, fainting or in extreme cases, shock.
How does acupuncture work for Low Blood Pressure?
Acupuncture has dual regulation-lower high blood pressure and rise low blood pressure. Acupuncture has been found to be particularly helpful in rising blood pressure. By applying acupuncture needles at specific sites of meridians which locate over nerve pathways it sends impulses to the brain to regulate brain chemicals and the cardiovascular system. This, in turn, rise blood pressure. Acupuncture also treats dizziness, fatigue or fainting and other complicating diseases related blood pressure.
Course of treatment
There are 10-15 acupuncture sessions in one course of treatment. Treatment frequency depends on individual condition. Chinese herbs work synergistically with acupuncture.
